Dr. Eric Zvaniga

Biography:

Dr. Eric P. Zvaniga has a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), Tourism, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Project Management, and a Post-Baccalaureate in Management from Athabasca University.

He is sessional faculty in University Canada West’s MBA Department of Marketing, Strategy and Entrepreneurship.

Experience and Expertise

Dr.Zvaniga'sprofessional experience encompasses different industries and entrepreneurial engagements. Multiple industry roles provide a unique insight into strategic approaches impacting transformation. He has examined ideation and vision creation to find future pivots; these assist in forming organizations, goals, culture, and long-range sustainability actions. Engaged as the Global Data Strategy and Governance manager at Cisco Systems, Inc., his skills and knowledge form a base for constructing strategic plans, new data analytic models and developing innovative entrepreneurial change.

Dr. Zvaniga’s academic experience has been focused on the management discipline for the past eight years - most recently as an associate faculty at Royal Roads University in the Master of Arts in Tourism Management program teaching Strategic Concepts and Application for Tourism/Hospitality. Dr.Zvanigapreviously taught managerial thought, ethics, management information systems and negotiation skills in the Faculty of Management at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus. During this time, he taught students interested in exploring management principles in various faculties and international student cohorts at both UBC campuses.

Publications and Scholarly Activity

Dr. Zvaniga’s research explores tourists’ experiences in all seasonal settings and how to develop involvement and place attachment to a destination. The knowledge gained supports the transformation of the ever-changing global tourism industry.
