We all know graduation is super exciting. You are finally done with your studies and are ready to begin a brand-new chapter: your career.

Some people graduate already working in their fields, which is fantastic. However, some still need to find their desired job. When is the best time to look for jobs? Before, during or after graduation?

The answer is: as soon as you begin your studies. Many students start looking for positions only after graduation. This is not a smart move. According to career experts, your job search in Canada should start the moment you begin your studies.

This does not mean you should actively apply for jobs in your first year, but you should network as much as possible. Building an appropriate network throughout your study program is essential in Canada because it is through networking that you find those hidden job positions that are never posted online.

Besides networking, career experts advise students to start actively applying for jobs as soon as they begin their last term. This gives you plenty of time to land your dream job by the time you graduate. Going to job fairs is also preferred, which is excellent for directly connecting with recruiters.

Therefore, do not miss out and start your job search on time. Leaving it for after graduation might take you several months to find your desired position, which may make you feel frustrated.
