University Canada West joins Global University Systems

Global University Systems B.V. (GUS), the international higher education group, is pleased to announce that Vancouver-based University Canada West (UCW) has joined its global alliance of education institutions.

The affiliation received approval from the British Columbia Ministry of Advanced Education and paves the way for the Canadian university to strengthen operations at both local and international levels, to increase student enrollments, and to gain global reach.

Global University Systems has extensive experience in offering university degrees and working with a wide range of top academic institutions and awarding bodies following the highest quality assurance and compliance standards.

GUS will support UCW to further develop its academic profile, expand its course portfolio and strengthen its management team. The partnership enables UCW to better support students’ needs and bring about greater opportunities through Global University Systems’ network of academic partners, agents, international locations, marketing and online learning resources.

According to Arthur Coren, President and Vice-Chancellor at University Canada West, “this is a very positive development for UCW and a new chapter in its evolution. We are excited to have joined the GUS Group and confident that it will enable the university to achieve its full potential. This alliance is beneficial not just to UCW and its students, but to the British Columbia post-secondary sector.”

Reflecting on how Global University Systems will be able to contribute to the further development of UCW, Professor Maurits van Rooijen, Chief Academic Officer of GUS, said: “The GUS Group will invest in UCW, enabling it to strengthen academic and student support operations and achieve its international ambitions.” He added: “As a group, we work with global institutions to make education more relevant for our students, their future employers and society at large. With UCW joining Global University Systems, Dr. Coren and his team will be able to refresh and advance the original idea of an innovative university that makes a distinctive contribution in British Columbia and far beyond.”
