What to Expect
The student experience at University Canada West can be described as diverse, supportive, and inspiring.Whether students choose to attend classes at the Vancouver campus or Online, they will meet classmates originating from different continents, and of all ages – from new secondary school graduates to working professionals. This diverse learning environment allows for unique viewpoints and more robust conversations in and out of class.
Student Support
Students are strongly supported throughout their time at University Canada West. Students will work in learning teams and are supported by Writing and Numeracy Coaches to develop a strong foundation. They are able to interact with faculty and university staff members who are attuned to current business practices, career opportunities and industry changes. Various workshops and seminars are held free of charge for students throughout the year.
Interaction with the Faculty
Class sizes are purposely kept small to maximize the interaction between each professor and his or her students. This student to teacher ratio allows students to ask more questions and have more in-depth discussions. Additionally, professors are available for discussions or extra help outside of class.
Student Activities
The University, in conjunction with the Student Committee hosts events throughout the year to enhance the student experience. Various campus activities and fundraisers are planned for students. Online Campus students residing in or visiting the Vancouver area are also welcome to attend these events.
